The task of eliminating unwanted possessions can be more difficult than you think. The first step is to decide what you no longer want. Generally, this happens in unison with our organizing services. We come to your home and work by your side, or with your family, and go through your possessions with you. We help you make decisions but, ultimately, you make the decisions unless you ask us to. Our role is to help guide you through an overwhelming process by asking the right questions while being compassionate, understanding and nonjudgmental.
The second step requires action. For items that you do not want to keep, we help you decide how to get rid of them and actually do it. Here are some examples of how to get rid of things:
Each method has its advantages and drawbacks. Some result in money for you and some require you to spend money. Some you can do alone, such as recycling and some require help from others, such as auctions. No matter which method you choose, organizing is required. We can be there to help you and your family. Additionally, we have preferred, trusted vendors to suggest.
We understand that, in most cases, you and your family are capable of doing this yourself but you have commitments. We bring knowledge, time, energy, safety and other ideas you may not consider on your own. We stay focused and understand deadlines. We are compassionate and sensitive to the fact that ours actions may involve a lifestyle change such as moving to a skilled facility.
